BROTHER TO THE

Sgt. Major John Champion, a dedicated and ambitious soldier in Light Horse Harry Lee's command, volunteers for the task of deserting his regiment, going to New York and bringing Benedict Arnold back alive. The reward will be a high ranking commission, and Champion who desires to marry Lee's cousin needs to become an officer to realize his ambition. Champion's courage brings him luck and he soon finds himself a trusted noncom in Arnold's troop of American loyalists. How Champion perfects his plot, the intrigues and adventures of counterspying and the portrayal of the enigmatic Arnold all go towards making this a taut, suspenseful and different historical novel that gains in interest by being based solidly on fact.
