KIRKUS REVIEW

Winsome drawings by Maurice Sendak, big and bold in every way, are half the appeal in a large book with a large theme. Tommy wakes one morning and is a giant. Through breakfast and as the day grows older, Tommy gets bigger and bigger- much bigger than his friend Betsy- big enough to spend the day sitting on houses, eating trees, and landing planes on his shoulder. With night and sleepiness, he returns to his size and his warm bed.
