An essential for a modern home library; important for school, college and public libraries. A book that everyone interested in the wider conception of the Communistic state will want to own as a reference book on the history, conception, personalities, developments, strengths, weaknesses, and probable future. An extraordinary achievement -- for while it is, as would be expected, a thoroughly sympathetic handling of a meet question, the authors' approach the developments with a challenging mind, and do not hesitate to indicate the weak spots in the armor. The volumes may be sold separately, though as standard works on the subject, it seems inadvisable to offer them that way. The first deals with the Constitution; the second, with social trends. Well documented.
