The factual background is based on the group in the Field Museum in Chicago, and the story is planned to give an idea of how first things were made :- a ""boat"" was developed by the chance discovery that a log could be poled by a long stick; an ""exe"" was invented when a pointed stick lodged itself in a stone, and together they did a job the stick could not have done alone. In brief text and lots of pictures this story is told.
