THE BIG CLOCK BOOK

By

Publisher: Capitol

This pattern- from this publisher- is becoming almost too familiar, particularly since the sheet of cardboard extending above the text pages bends in small hands, and breaks, long before the body of the book, with its metal spiral binding. In this case, the extension is a clock with red plastic hands (another casualty in short order). The story is told in four line jingles, and describes what children do at each hour of the day. As a device for teaching telling time it is unoriginal but serves the purpose. Each page- each hour- carries the query, ""What do you do at .. o'clock?"" Merchandise appeal- stylized postery pictures following the action routine.
