GAME FOR DEMONS

During his summer vacation at Steiner's Sunshine Bungalows, Bronx adolescent Gordie Cassman confronts a whole new set of demons. First, there's his mother's conviction that she's cursed by the cabin's former occupant, the Widow Kravitz -- a delusion that Dad and sister Myra blame vaguely on ""her changes."" Then there are the forebodings of sex that seem to be in the air and cause Gordie nothing but embarrassment. Unerringly balanced and palpably real.
