A clear and resolute party platform which provides some definite principles for the coming campaign as against the drift-largely one of default- which has lost the last elections, and which shows the Republicans the Republican way in which to reach the independent voter- ""who would certainly like a steak"". The program here is based on seven planks; our need for a ""house of business and industry"" as important as our ""house of government""; consumer representation, in terms of more goods, services and leisure; increased consumer participation- in the ownership of business; security and social benefits, provided by business rather than the government; the creation of industrial courts- to settle disputes; a new tax structure which will eliminate double taxation, hidden taxes, etc. and lastly a doctrine of world plenty and peace-and peace, and Russia, can be reached through trade.... The argument for industry's intervention, and the politico's promise of bigger, better things- this is aimed at the man in the street- on his way to the polls.
