THE FIRST BOOK OF BASEBALL by Benjamin Brewster

THE FIRST BOOK OF BASEBALL

Pub Date: May 1st, 1950

A comprehensive handbook of baseball for the young spectator consisting of simplified explanations of baseball terminology, play and team organization. The variety of the subject treated-line-ups, scoring, the league system, types of batting and pitching, and difficult plays- rescues this manual from the rulebook approach to an intricate and highly developed game. This is best for a child with enough visual knowledge of the game to sustain an interest in the fundamentals which might irritate the junior fan who knows his batting averages. On the whole an interesting baseball handbook written simply; strictly for beginners.
