DUST OF THE TRAIL

Trail trials and tribulations of Rusty Shortridge, taking a herd from Texas to Dodge City for his old friend, Colonel Watrous. Trouble springs from a young greenhorn, Leonard , Watrous' new partner who is jealous of Rusty's proved ability with cattle, men and women. More trouble comes from a group of rustlers, and from some farmers who put up a quarantine belt and refuse to let the herd go through. Finally, short-handed, with a split crew, the herd gets through, minus 500 stolen steer. Rusty goes back single-handed, to fight the rustlers who took them. Good, if somewhat more quiet than the usual red-blooded, two-fisted Western.
