Miss Bailey did eight of the earlier series of Pictured Geographies, and now launches this new series of our own states with four which should be popular. In each book there is a map of the state to start -- a text tracing the history, the episodes of story interest, the industries, products, famous places and famous men, in a sort of streamlined version of the old picture geographies. Good supplementary reading-and seeing- to use at the start of geography in school, and for younger children whose awakening interest in new places, these might serve in the Read Aloud section as well. School and public library appeal, primarily.
