CHARDIN

Thirty one black and white reproductions and nine in full color of the work of this eighteenth century French painter. Predominantly a painter of still life, even the black and white illustrations show to advantage the impeccable technique for which this master is most justly famous. The limited introductory text gives a resume of Chardin's life and accurately places him in the historical view of painting including his relative influence upon his contemporaries and later the Impressionists.
