RICH CAT, POOR CAT by Bernard- Illus. Waber Kirkus Star

RICH CAT, POOR CAT

By

Pub Date: Sept. 1st, 1963
Publisher: Houghton Mifflin

Poking about in the opposing worlds of rich felines and a scraggly alley cat, Mr. Waber digs up many striking, comical contrasts. There are those named Abigail, Tasha or Ernestine,--and then there is Scat. There are those who ""look out of picture windows"" and ""sleep on downy pillows"", -- and then there is Scat whose ""pillows are the coarse cobblestones"" of the city street. The fresh illustrations in color boast a rare combination of good humor, fine design, and pleasing simplicity. A more than satisfying stroll through catdom by the author of How to Go About Laying An Egg (1963, p. 58, J-26).
