THE RIVER OF LIFE by Bernard Seeman

THE RIVER OF LIFE

Pub Date: Sept. 25th, 1961
Publisher: Norton

The course of man's accumulation of knowledge of the blood is traced, beginning with his first observations, colored by magic and mystery, through to our present-day scientific methods of research. The author shows how some important early discoveries were temporarily lost because of superstition and fear; and finally he takes us from the Renassiance to modern times as continual knowledge about the blood is gained, with much yet to be uncovered. There is considerable detail regarding the activity and function of the blood and circulatory system, but the interested layman should find it absorbing and easily understood.
