KIRKUS REVIEW

This is probably the most useful reference work available on the traditional, or ""Scholastic,"" philosophy of the Church. It contains over 37,000 entries, set out in alphabetical order, and covers quite thoroughly and concisely the entire range of words and phrases, both English and Latin, in common use among Scholastic philosophers from the most antique to the most modern. The work is enhanced by a number of excellent diagrammatic illustrations and by references to the works of Aquinas for supplementary reading. This completely revised and updated edition is a ""must"" for all Catholic college libraries and for seminaries; it should also elicit some interest among academic libraries of a general nature.
