LIZARD LYING IN THE SUN

Lizard lay on a rock/ He lay on the rock/ In the warm sun./ He liked to feel/ The warm sun/ On his back/ And on his long tail."" That's just about all lizard does, except for when he ZAPS! a passing fly and, just in time, SNAPS off his tail as he's being carried off by an eagle. Purists may object that lizard's new tail won't exactly be ""Just as good/ As his old tail"" but Freschet and Rounds manage to transform this inert sunbather into an appealing trickster. Canny and artful simplicity.
