NIGHT SKY

A group of beautifully integrated short poems, musings about nature, human nature and love. Deeply introverted, tranquilly unified in theme, these poems express the poet's search through time toward timelessness, through the finite toward the infinite. Yet the single purpose catches the prismatic variety of her subjects -- landscapes, portraits and the presence of a beloved, transmuted into serene and remote reflections. Miss Kenyon has created here some lovely lyrics, and although sharpness of observation is often somewhat obscured by flabby phrasing and hoary poetical devices, the slow even development, and graceful melody reveal an unusual lyric talent.
