KOALAS

Koalas look so much like the traditional teddy bear that they may have a slight edge over other small animals in immediate, familiar appeal for small children. Beginning readers and young listeners have a steadily growing list of quality nonfiction written for them and this is one of them. Mrs. Kohn, who has written well about science for all age levels, employs here an easy-to-read vocabulary to describe the life cycle and habits of the koala. The information in the text expands on material in the author's excellent book of last year, Marvelous Mammals.
