THE WHATCHAMACALLIT BOOK

A trivia fancier's vocabulary builder, consisting solely of illustrated definitions, about three to a page (""the side of a doorway or window opening. . .the roller in a typewriter. . .the bony ridge on top of your nose""), with the answers (jamb, platen, bridge) printed upside-down in a corner. With a collection of words ranging from cruet, flange, and escutcheon to festoon, flex, and bioluminescence, this is best compared to another item included here, ""a piece of furniture with shelves for bric-a-brac."" In other words, a verbal whatnot.
