Jewish history is complex:- it covers a long period of time, and extends over all the earth; its growth was shaped by change as various groups developed in different ways under different conditions and stresses and crises. The text of this dramatic picture book provides a running chronology of successive historical periods, accompanied by photographs, reproductions of paintings, of documents, of drawings. There are some 500 in all, many in color, and maps help clarify the changing status of the Jewish people in the then known world. The market for this book would be primarily a gift book for people of Jewish heritage; secondarily, for libraries where there is need for an overall history, not written with much depth scholarship, but compassing an enormous amount or information.
