KIRKUS REVIEW

A lovely looking book, but not quite simple enough to be a first book, nor quite comprehensive enough to be a satisfactory general book. So far as it goes it is good; there are basic definitions, answers to the usual questions, enough development to peak the curiosity, if there is already a germ there, but not enough to arouse it if there is none to start with. Something of star myths links the factual content with the familiar legends. And there is some data on how to use a star map which may prove a connecting link to further study. But the marginal decorations and informational drawings are beautiful, and the photographs enchanting.
