AKE AND HIS WORLD

A lyrical, rather exquisite story of a child, in some ways suggesting Walter de la Mare. Little scenes of a small boy's daily life in a Swedish village. How he brings happiness to an old couple, how he suffered for his misdeeds when he was cruel to another lad, how he fell in love with a beautiful lady, his imaginings, his memories, his experiences, all in terms of a five-year old. There's tenderness and simplicity, a sure recapturing of a child's world, but many will find it somewhat precious.
