KIRKUS REVIEW

It takes a thief to catch a thief -- proved once again in a blood and thunder story of hidden treasure, secret love, confused identities, murder and sudden death. There's plenty of excitement, but it ranks more as an adventure story than a mystery. Rather feeble attempt towards the hard-boiled school, with amateurish results.
