BIKE TRIP by Betsy Maestro

Email this review

Josh, who looks about eight, recounts a pleasant family outing incorporating safe biking practices (e.g., riding on the right, ""single file, and not too close together, in case we have to stop suddenly""). Sights along the way and a small-town street fair at the destination make this seem like a story, but LC has it right: 796.6. Sunny, evocative watercolors of the Connecticut countryside make this unusually appealing, though Maestro's people are less adroitly rendered. Safety rules are summarized more explicitly on the last page. Useful and attractive.
