THE TREASURE OF THE PADRES

On location again in Arizona (The Shaman's Last Raid- 1963- 56 (J-24), this is just an adventure story without further implications in which Tim Bowdy and his sister Debbie and her (all hers) cat Bootsie spend a summer on a ranch. They are joined by Ramon , called Stuffy, who in spite of either name is a real Papagos Indian. Most of the story deals with Bootsie's disappearance which in turn leads to their discovery of an old map, in turn to a spring, in turn to a cave- where they are temporarily trapped, and finally to the treasure of the mission padres-- bushels of corn, a ghost bell and some valuable archaeological finds.... The story is carbonated with lots of youthful spirits and both boys and girls will find it agreeable and animated.
