KIRKUS REVIEW

A gentle but dewy-eyed poem speaks of the hope that lies in the unborn and the newborn- birds and humans alike- and prays for a peace that will allow survival. Though the have been illustrated by Elizabeth Orton Jones whose hushed, meticulous pastels carry out the simplicity of the verses to a fine degree, this kind of saccharined sentiment an especially sweet tooth-which ours is not.
