Boy loves stringed-up box. A dog wants it, a cat would like to have her kits in it, a bird wishes to nest in it, a duck desires to lay her eggs in it; another boy would like to move in with his wagon. Everyone is rejected and goes away mad, 'til the boy builds them all a replica. The three color illustrations are in bold, amusing cartoon style.
