A somewhat more judicious version of how The Chinese Helped Build America (p. 480, J-150) -- virtually identical to the Dowdells' volume in content, but much better on festivals and customs (including both the traditional Chinese ways and the variations practiced by the second and third generations), a little more outspoken on the injustices of the Chinese exclusion acts, and a bit more cognizant of the problems faced by contemporary Chinese Americans. An incremental improvement.
