KEEPERS OF THE BELL

Wild Imp. though published first is actually the sequel to this book, although each can stand alone. With the same sensitivity to the Irish temperament that distinguished her first offering, the author now tells the story of Conal O'Mellaine before his emigration to America, of his part in the struggle against the cruel and powerful landlord bent on ruining his tenants. It is also the story of Ahaygar, the beautiful black stallion, which Conal and his brother Kevin tame and train, and who is instrumental in their final deliverance. Despite the conditions of poverty, the pride and warmth of the Irish, their close ties with the land and their heritage are authentically reproduced in a book for those interested in the scales of justice and for animal devotees as well.
