Henry Huggins' mongrel, Ribsy, is a friendly city dog. The story follows his adventures after he accidentally rolls down the automatic window of the new family car and gets lost in a strange parking lot. It is told largely from Ribsy's point of view. His wanderings and his eventual reunion with Henry are satisfying, if unexceptional. The illustrations are of the cartoon variety and the large print of the text, together with the story, should appeal to the youngest readers in this age group.
