As her sister makes only the slightest preparations for her wedding, Barbara thinks about love, tries, to fall in love, and finally becomes a little wiser in the ways of love. Unsurprising developments and an unmomentous ending constitute a relentless, wordy bore. Quite a come-down for the author of Jean and Johnny (1959, p. 404, J-232) and many other favorites.
