THE BAGHDAD DEFECTIONS

Gerhard Spoker, a Third Reich German scientist with a whole biochemical arsenal in his dangerous head, has been ""terminated"" by the U.S. or did he defect? In any case he shouldn't be at large and he's the friction fuse in this Middle Eastern intrigue which involves an Arab agitator -- nicer than you might think, an Israeli or two out of Auschwitz, and an attractive young woman with her heart in her mouth and on her sleeve at the same time. And also at the same time, just as easily read and forgotten.
