KIRKUS REVIEW

More than any man in the British government, Bevin is in the position to speak with authority on this subject. This book, though a compilation of writings and statements, the last third prior to his participation in the government, is exciting reading, and presents a challenging blue print of social thought and action. One sees what labor is doing, the steps by which its complete cooperation has been secured, the ways in which its gains have been preserved, the revolution that has actually taken place in the relative position of labor and capital, the impact of war on all classes- and the conclusions of a great leader as to the principles at stake. A must book.
