KIRKUS REVIEW

Light, not to be hidden under a bustle (it wasn't--it first appeared in Naperville, Illinois in 1894 and went through 41 printings) is to be read under a Tiffany lamp. It is ""A Complete Sexual Science & Guide to Purity Containing Advice to Maiden, Wife & Mother How to Love, How to Court, How to Marry, &c. &c."" and it is full of fearless and ""truthful instruction."" Although we're not sure that goiter is a disease which married life seems to make worse...or that the hug-step will trip you up and you will become a fallen woman. Anyway, this will tell you all about love and sexual science and marriage and motherhood and those Diseases and InduLgences--and you should find the illustrations particularly alluring, even though you won't see any midriffs under the middy blouses. Not a put-on, but a come-on for your more sophisticated camp followers.
