HOW TO EARN MONEY

By

Pub Date: Oct. 14th, 1957

Within the limited sphere of boys and girls who wish to start a business with sewing, cooking, yard tending, craft products, tray painting, etc., this book has valuable suggestions. However, some of the suggestions seem impractical and many are hackneyed. Baby sitting and yard-tending are important but hardly original enterprises. There are case histories of boys and girls who do make money at making jelly, jewelry, bird houses, etc. There are suggestions here on what to charge, how to sell, pointers on expanding an enterprise successfully established as well as guidance on pitfalls to avoid and a comprehensive bibliography suggesting similar books. How much profit there is for youngsters in general on these fledgling enterprises is a moot point. This book is not a comprehensive handbook on ways to find part-time employment. In communities where there is little possibility for boys and girls to find employment in established businesses this might earn its place in days when every teenager wants to supplement family funds.
