KIRKUS REVIEW

Yankee Longstraw, a circus man, drifts to the oil fields in Torpedo and up against the ugly monopoly of Lew Ashley who controls the freighting in this territory. But Longstraw is determined to lay his own pipeline, and from digging and pumping to raiding and shooting, this omits little of the grit and grime entailed. Takes determination, for the reader too.
