THE MOON EYED APPALOOSA

How Corporal Burke Langdon makes a delivery of Nez Perce horses (Appaloosa) from Fort Boise to Fort Walla is a hightailed romp of a story. For Langdon, in bypassing orders, is unable to turn down the pleas of a band of Missouri ""pilgrims""; cannot keep his nose out of a payroll robbery; and fights his Indians, paces the robber-murderer, and manages to stay out of trouble at his journey's end. Late 1800's, and an entertaining variation on a Western theme.
