KIRKUS REVIEW

Tricks and more tricks spot this double level story for the court room scenes alternate with the first person narrative of Lewis Mountain, a magician whose young bride had become entangled with a counterfeiting set-up. Her murder, after that of her uncle, sends Mountain to track down the killer and to hand tool a frame from which his victim cannot escape for, although he is not guilty of the killing with which he is charged, he is sentenced for life, never knowing exactly why.
