THE FOX WITH COLD FEET

Young Fox emerges from his den one snowy morning, decides his feet are cold, heeds Sparrow's advice that he needs boots, succumbs to one after another trick in pursuit thereof (finding seeds for Sparrow, gathering wood for Beaver, etc.), winds up with nonsensical items on each foot (a nest, a pail, earmuffs, a scarf)--and then, shucking them in relief, decides he doesn't need boots after all. Throughout he intones, ""I'm quick and spry, clever and sly"" (and the other animals also chatter in rhyme). Plumb dumb.
