Once there was, truly, a nine-year-old Norwegian boy who was trapped in a cave for four days with two goats and a kid, who kept up his spirits by building a waterwheel for the trickle from outside, who kept his mind off killing the kid by whistling--and his scaled-to-size courage makes an affecting story if you survive the interjections (""Oh dear me, no!"") and the general condescension of the pre-cave passages. Olaf is manly and modest and doesn't need a testimonial.
