Harry's story might be true; it's also a much-told one--the pet with a male name (here a nursery-school rabbit) starts to behave peculiarly, and a check-up with the vet reveals that ""he"" is ""going to have babies."" ""Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!"" the children cry, and later back at school ""they put on their Thinking Caps"" and come up with a ""real Mommy's name"" for the rabbit--yes, Harriet. Dorsky has been a nursery school teacher and uses the same tone of voice here, unengagingly. And Batherman's bland cheerfulness makes the whole story look like a vitamin brochure.
