JOHNNY Q. PUBLIC SPEAKS!

Have you ever noticed the almost possessive pride with which the faces of any of Boake Carter's vast radio audience light up in speaking of his radio talks on current events? Here's a book they will want -- for it is not a rehash of what he has said, but a carefully culled selection from his fan mail. Not -- let me assure you -- with any eye to Boake Carter's interest or pride, for frequently the letters are critical in tone, but wholly from the angle -- just how does this letter, or that, interpret the tempo of the country in the last three years. It is a keen and enlightening appraisal of the New Deal, and shows the changing attitude from the inception of various projects to their termination -- or extension, as the case may be. Good stuff -- warmly human.
