Bob is the host of a midwestern show called the ""50-50 Club"" which would appear, to be for people well over the dividing line. However he has had a wholesome life recounted here with enthusiasm from paper route to show biz pro by age sixteen -- ""Of course if Mom ever found out some of the places we played she'd have a fit"" (one had exotic dancers); then there was television -- ""how thrilling it was to be a part of an infant industry,"" hosting amateur nights at Cincinnati's Paramount Theater ""What a thrill it was to sing in there,"" appearing on Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts -- ""I was thrilled to be there"" and finally working with Ruth Lyons -- ""one of life's great experiences."" Which this book certainly is not.
