KIRKUS REVIEW

Saving money with the Copes requires a certain investment in camping equipment. The authors travel with their children, presumably have a longer vacation time than the average (10 days) American, and enjoy driving and doing their own housekeeping. The Copes prefer the countryside; monuments, museums and cathedrals bore them. Some of their favorite tours have been spent in the hill towns of Italy, browsing in flea markets, and swimming, diving and snorkeling around the Mediterranean. Solid information on better campgrounds from Austria to Yugoslavia including travel directions and estimated prices comprise the practical heart of this otherwise subjective guidebook for the very married.
