This was published as an adult boy-biography in 1936 and we loved it then and love it now. A delectable yarn of golden boyhood, an ideal book for family reading. Amazing recapturing of the spirit of youth, with original sin in its most captivating guise. Amusing and entertaining incidents galore -- delicious fun -- original. I think it has the elements of a classic picture of boyhood, far outweighing Story of a Bad Boy. Charles Dana Gibson has contributed a charming frontispiece -- a boy portrait, and Robert McCloskey, winner of this year's Caldecott, has done delightful illustrations.
