Author Hoffman says he is a psychic in touch, spiritually, with a deceased psychiatrist--the erstwhile Dr. Fischer. From their partnership (temporal office, Los Angeles) the author claims to have evolved a process guaranteed to solve the problems people have in dealing with the ""negative love"" inflicted on them by their parents. The same process, the author says, is what caused Jerry Rubin to grow up at 37, a result still being debated in some circles. This is how it's meant to work: Imagine a sanctuary, with flowers and trees. Go there. You will find a guide waiting for you. You try to pull the guide's face off. If it yields to your pulling, he is an impostor guide, and you must imagine him again until you get him right. Make him build a wall around your sanctuary, and retreat to it whenever you have a problem. Your guide will have a syringe ready (really, a syringe), and will extract emotions like ""loneliness"" from your body in big, syrupy blobs. He will replace the fluid he extracted with an injection of ""happiness,"" or some such thing. You will feel better. That is, if they don't carry you off in a white coat first.
