THIS EXCITING AIR by Boone T. Guyton

Email this review

Experiences of a test pilot for Navy planes, that explore and explain the fascination of this dangerous, exciting, exhausting profession. Beginning his flying in the Navy, Guyten switched over to test piloting, was sent to France to test dive bombera for the government, saw the beginning of the end for that country, and returned here to continue his work for Vought-Sikorsky in Bridgeport. There is a goodly collection of yarns, of factual material, of the exacting requirement of the Navy before they pass a new ship, of the changes in flying and the demands made on the test pilot. It adds to the growing library on aviation and is an interesting contribution in its special field.
