KIRKUS REVIEW

An omelet of strange happenings, outrageous swindles, bloody and inexplicable doings that have occurred in the American West. There's the discovery of a Roman colony in Arizona dating from the 9th century A.D., a Phoenician ship embedded in the high cliffs of a canyon, on to the more familiar exploits of Muerietta who gun-toted up three hundred casualties, the unsolved headless murders of prospectors in a hidden valley, and the unequalled exploits of the Baron of Arizona, James Addison Reavis... Brad Williams has been punching a typewriter for years and does a reasonably good job of this kind--true westerniana.
