HOW TO FINANCE A COLLEGE EDUCATION

The Director of the Student Aid Bureau at Princeton University gives some essential information on the ways in which to meet an expense which today runs somewhere between $5000 and $10,000 for the four years (150 years ago $171.23 covered a year at Princeton). When to start laying funds aside (at birth)- and a table of expenses a college education is likely to entail; work opportunities for students- summer jobs, vacation jobs, jobs in college; types of loan funds, prepayment plans, savings, insurance and investment plans; and finally scholarships- and to whom they are available- all this provides many avenues of opportunity to pursue- whether by the entrant or his family. There is an extensive appendix with further specific instructions.
