Here's a castaway story with a treasure motive worked in -- a plot with the trimmings of old fashioned melodrama, many of them rather beside the point, and included for the purpose of varying the action and building atmosphere. The hero has his Achilles' heel and the villain all the accepted attributes. Circulating library -- if that type of book is needed. But it is pretty poor stuff.
