In the third installment of the Zigby series, the titular zebra enjoys another unexpected adventure, this time underwater. The day starts off normally—Zigby and friends Bertie Bird and McMeer play basketball. But trouble ensues when they decide to go fishing instead. At the lagoon, McMeer multitasks, fishing and napping simultaneously, his net propped against his hammock. When he wakes up, the net is missing and Zigby dives into the lagoon to retrieve it. He meets his match there, and the action heats up. Of course, all’s well in the end. The trio reunites, with a net just a little worse for wear. Paterson’s full-bleed spreads, chock-a-block with color, are lively and fresh. Bold black lines frame vibrant figures and stand out against vivid backdrops. This is an appealing addition, sure to please the preschool set. (Picture book. 2-5)
